Hello everybody.

Not sure if this has been discussed before, as I am new here, but I was wondering if there is anything available as far as private lessons go, such as speaking Urdu over the phone, etc...

Meeting up once a month sounds great, but God knows I could use more than that!!

Thanks,
Nida

Now thats what you call in Urdu, " Aagay Kuaan peechay khaee" smile ... means, if i am quick enough to leave my number here and offer my services, i might be judged as some desperate online weirdo posing to be a good samaritan... :) .. and if i don't offer my services, i feel bad at the same time since, i am new to this group and the "Jazba" of helping someone with the language is upto my head, atleast for now... :) .. So my dear fellow members, no matter what u think, i m here to offer my help in any way possible, that can pull our new member Nida closer to Desi land from Frangi land.... :) ...

Oh, by the way.....Anymore volunteers????? ... :)

Thanks
Hussam Chaudhry

P.S. Guys, blow some life into this forum please, it is so dead... :)

Well, I do know what Frangi means, as that is what my cousins from Pakistan and India call me... so no lesson needed there.

And Jazba, based on your sentence, would be your 'intention'? Is that correct?

Thanks Hussum for your help. I will definitely be using it.

Salaam,
Nida

Hussam, thank you for offering. Nida, we have a few more members who are great in Urdu and I am sure will help you with Urdu. Your best bet is to come to the next meetup and and meet other members. Bring with you a notebook or maybe some index cards. Also jot down some phrases you would like to learn to speak in Urdu. I am working on getting some elementary Urdu books for the members, but the books will not arrive from Pakistan until February.

If anyone is visiting India or Pakistan and can bring some beginner books would be very helpful.

Nida, we are meeting on jan 12th. I hope to see you then.

Feel free to post any further questons you may have.
